In Case You Miss Us...

Quotes of the Night

The story:

So I went to sign up for classes today, and I found out that I couldn't get into creative writing in the English department. The nice lady in the office suggested that I go to the Media Studies building, and she gave me excellent directions (Actually, she pulled me out of the building and pointed down the street). So, when I saw the sign, I thought that I was doing well. However, that was not the case. The sign was next to a building. The building was not the Media Studies building. It was a house. (I think). It was dark and empty and no one was there when I climbed the steps to the second floor to peer in the windows. A few minutes later, I found the Media Studies building farther down the path and to the right. Needless to say, I had just looked really sketchy for no good reason. And yes, someone saw me. Later that night, I related my sorry tale to Kat.

Kat: "It's too bad that I wasn't with you. You look less creeper when you are with someone. We would have looked like stupid Americans instead of stalkers."
Lauren: "I hope they cannot tell we are American until we start talking."
Kat: "Yeah, but we never stop talking!"

Kat is also the proud owner of a bird book (thanks to the lovely Brittney Wiggins) and is very excited to observe the local fauna. Today, she showed me her bird book.

Kat: "Saw a sand swallow today, but no sand."

The straights really don't have any sand, but they are still gorgeous.

If you are reading this post and do not find it amusing, I apologize. However, I wanted to offer a little bit of Kat's humor even from far away. I promise some more serious posts (maybe) later.

The bad news: The Media Studies building was closed.
The good news: I looked online and found a creative writing course that might fit.
The bad news: I have to wait until tomorrow to find out.
The good news: It is gorgeous here (have I mentioned that already?) Also, the rain hasn't been too bad yet.

Cheers,

Lauren
